Tiny Dancer, a sundress for the dog days of summer
How did it get to be mid-July already? (And why does summer always fly by, while winter drags on and on?)
I’ve got a new design coming out soon … here’s a sneak preview, modeled by Baby Headless:
It’s called Tiny Dancer (ruffles always make me think of dancing…). It has a shoulder closure to make dressing a little one easier. This is my first design in Claudia’s Hand Painted Cotton Ball yarn, a wonderful plied cotton yarn that knits up at 6 sts per inch on size 4 needles. (The ball band says 5-5.5 sts per inch, but I like it at 6 for this dress.)
The pattern is being written in sizes from 3 to 24 months. I hope to get it done in the next couple of weeks….check back here or at Knitting Matters if you want it. Or even better, sign up for my monthly email newsletter so you’ll always be notified when I release new patterns. The signup box is at the bottom of the Knitting Matters home page.
Next month I’ll also have a lace wrap pattern for you. The pattern is completely finished and the model is being knitted as we speak. It’s done in Judith, an alpaca yarn from Schaefer Yarns. Here’s a peek at one of my early swatches for the Renewal Wrap — feast your eyes on the gorgeous purples in this colorway called “Betty Friedan”:
