The Winds of Change
I’ve finally committed to making the transition to wholesale-only pattern sales. I’ve been mulling it over for quite some time now and after talking with some other designers to bolster my confidence that this is the right decision, I’m not looking back. It’s hard not to second-guess myself on this, but I know that if I continue to try to work from two different business models at the same time, neither of them can be very effective. My time and money will be more efficiently spent focusing on one audience. So I’m totally re-vamping my website this week to allow retail shops to place their wholesale orders online. As soon as I get the site relaunched I have to focus on getting my patterns into more shops. That’s one of the hardest things because it’s a struggle just to get the attention of a busy yarn shop owner for more than a minute or two. I’ll have to be creative and persistent in my efforts, that’s for sure!
Fair warning time: If you were planning to buy any of the patterns from my site, now would be the time though. By the end of this week you’ll need to get them from a retail shop.
