Hit the panic button!

Yep, that’s what I did today at our new house.  We haven’t moved in yet but I was there to do some painting.  I picked up a remote control that I thought was for the ceiling fan and… all heck broke loose (or should I say the sh*t hit the fan – LOL, couldn’t resist).  Anyway, the panic button triggers a VERY loud siren so I knew immediately what I had done.  And of course I panicked because I blanked out on where the reset button was…for a few seconds I was totally clueless.  You see, this house has all sorts of gadgets with control panels and remote controls — heating zones, motion detectors, etc., so there are switches in just about every room.  Anyway, I quickly remembered where it was, and got it turned off after about 30 seconds.  I felt like an idiot, but nobody showed up to check on me, so I don’t know how effective the system is after all.  Maybe I should just turn it on and let it run to see how long it would take for someone to care — LOL!

Ah, the joys of moving.

By the way, did I show you the house?  It’s surrounded by 2 acres of woods and is so awesome.  The inside walls are made of huge limestone boulders…maybe I can put up more inside pix later.
