Christmas knitting done!

Despite a slow start and a family crisis, the holiday knitting is finished for this year.  Whew!  Here are the socks for my SIL, made from Regia ‘Color’.  I’m pretty sure she’ll like them.

And Mom’s purse, which I’m not totally satisfied with, but I’m hoping she’ll like it:
Mom’s purse

It shrunk a bit too much, I’m afraid, and the front flap didn’t felt all the way.  My friends have tried to convince me that it’s a design element (as in, “Oh yeah, I planned it that way!”), but I’m not so sure. I lined the inside with some rigid facing (I think that’s what it’s called) sandwiched between some coordinating fabric  to give it some structure.

And, last but not least, my MIL’s scarf, which I LOVE!

Charlotte’s scarfIt’s made of Misti Alpaca Chunky and is SOOOO soft.  I just picked a lace pattern from the Encyclopedia of Knitting and knitted it on large needles.  I have enough of this in another color to make myself a scarf like this, but who knows when I’ll have time to do it.

So, with these things plus the two purses for my nieces (I posted photos of them before they were finished), I’m ready to ‘receive’ some gifts — ha ha!

And of course I’ve already got two more projects on the needles.  One is a baby sweater that will be a class sample for a class I’m teaching at the shop.  The other is a modified version of my Cardi-Cape pattern — I’m using some Dalegarn ‘Ara’ and Manos del Uruguay and they are GORGEOUS together.  I’ll be working on both of these as we visit family over the next week, and will try to remember to post photos when both are done.

Oh, if you want to see a photo of the BeeGees Christmas party, go to Trish’s blog.  We had a blast!
