Light at the end of the tunnel…
Gee, where does the time go? I can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since my last post. Does anyone else notice that time really does go faster as you get older? What’s up with that? I guess the hurricane in New Orleans is partly to blame too. The news has been so sad from down there that it’s hard to go about normal life without feeling guilty and helpless. Of course we donated cash to the relief effort, but it just doesn’t seem to be enough. But at least at this point they’ve finally gotten all the people out of the Superdome — that was a hellacious mess. Well, before I get political about all this I’d better get back to talking about knitting,…. you know, ….here in my Knitting Blog. (Maybe I need to start another blog where I can talk politics and other stuff…)
Anyway, I finished the MK II vest and am happy with the results. Pictures coming later, but I ended up using a KSP decrease to mirror the SKP on the other side. It was pulling a little bit at first, but then I realized that I just had to snug it up a bit tighter and that’s all it took. Now that that’s done, I just have to do the 3 cable swatches, the pocket swatch, and finish the argyle sock. The sock is surprisingly fun to do. I’m not saying that it isn’t a pain in the butt to have all those darn bobbins of yarn dangling from the back, but it’s fun to see the argyle pattern emerge in the bright color scheme I’m using.
I just found out that Jane mailed her Level II package off to TKGA — I’m so envious, Jane! Can’t wait to have a drink at 3:00 in the afternoon when I mail mine out too — LOL. Can you imagine the stress we’ll be feeling when we’re working on Level III? Sheesh!
So, as I said, pictures soon. Just waiting for the sun to be in the right place…. (Am I the "Queen of Excuses" or what?).

Kim,
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I didn’t think the sock was that bad. I did duplicate stitch for the vertical line instead of doing it as part of the Intarsia. I kind of liked doing the duplicate stitch. The swatch I didn’t like is that darn pocket swatch.
Are all your book reviews and the history report done? My history report was 2 pages and the evaluators will probably poo-poo that.
I’m still rooting for you!! Give me a “K”, Give me a “I”, Give me a “M”…Go Kim.
BTW, life is back to normacy as everybody is now getting the attention they deserve prior to MK II madness.

The sock, fun?! Well, in a perverse way I suppose it was. However, I hope never to knit another argyle. Ever. If they want a new sock they just might have to make do with my first attempt – the one where the colours ran when I washed it. My submitted sock was 8ply (btwn sport and worsted) with duplicate stitched lines. Good luck.
