More books!

Ok, it had to happen — I bought more knitting books at Borders last night….  I guess I should be surprised that it took me four whole weeks to cave in and "just browse" the knitting book section during our knitting night.  (That’s how long our new group has been meeting there.) I had a Borders gift card burning a hole in my pocket, and Trish had one too, so we helped each other make our choices.  I got "Knit One, Felt Too" by Kathleen Taylor, and "Weekend Knitting" by Melanie Falick.  These are both really great books, with lots of projects I want to do.

But I’ll have to be satisfied with just looking at the pretty pictures for a while, as I need to focus on finishing the christening gown in the next couple of weeks.  After that I’ll be working on some project samples for classes I’ll be teaching at Heritage Spinning and Weaving in the fall.  Yes, that’s right!  I met with the owner (Joan Hoover) today and we discussed several possible classes, and we’re working out the details now.  So I’m ALMOST an official knitting teacher — so cool!

Kim, I remember the anticipation and nervousness before teaching my first classes. How exciting for you! You’ll do just fine. What kind of classes did you and Joan talk about? When will you start teaching? The great thing about working in a yarn store is that it’s not really “work” at all. At least to me. It’s playtime that I get paid for. What could be better than that?
Good luck to you and I can’t wait to hear all about your teaching experiences as they happen. See you soon!
